Common Don't Show Settings

Within the Sumo tool, users can create specific do and don’t show settings. Users will want to utilize these settings to make sure popups show when and where they should and shouldn’t. Here is a list of important and common settings.

 

Common Settings

Must-Haves

  • User Agents Containing iPad; CPU OS 9 -
    Bluetent’s Digital Marketing Team has found that Sumo on this version of the iPad is defective. Be sure to block your popup from showing on this version.

     

  • Devices Mobile / Desktop -
    Bluetent’s Digital Marketing Team has found that popups that disrupt a user’s experience on a mobile device will affect the search engine ranking. To avoid this, mobile devices should not display ‘Popup’ or ‘Welcome Mat’ Form Types.
    NOTE - Make sure only to use ‘Not Show’ by itself and do not also include a ‘Show’ setting for the other device, vice versa. (Ex: Only create ‘Not Show Mobile’ AND do not create ‘Show Mobile’)

     

  • Paths Containing ?sumopath -
    This setting is to hide the popup from appearing when users are logging into Sumo.

     

  • Paths Containing /user -
    Specifically for all RezFusion websites. This setting will stop the popup from appearing when users are trying to log into the website.

     

  • Paths Containing /rescms/ -
    Specifically for all RezFusion websites. This setting will hide a popup from showing on the booking page of any RezFusion website.

     

  • Paths Containing /admin/ -
    Specifically for RezFusion Pro websites. This setting will hide a popup from showing when users are logged into a RezFusion Pro website.

     

  • Paths Containing /dashboard -
    Specifically for RezFusion Cloud and Essential websites. This setting will hide a popup from showing when users are logged into a RezFusion Cloud or Essential website.

     

Misc Settings

  • Query Parameter utm_source contains email -
    This setting will stop a popup from showing when a user lands on the site from a link within an email.

     

  • Paths Containing /vacation-rental-inquiry -
    Path URL will vary from website to website. This setting will stop the popup from showing on a Vacation Rental Inquiry page.
    NOTE - On RezFustion websites, there should already be a Newsletter signup checkbox on the form.

     

  • Paths Containing /contact-us -
    Path URL will vary from website to website. This setting will stop the popup from showing on the Contact Us page.
    NOTE - On RezFustion websites, there should already be a Newsletter signup checkbox on the form.

     

  • Paths Containing /newsletter -
    Path URL will vary from website to website. This setting will stop the popup from showing on the Newsletter Sign Up page.

     

  • Paths Containing /thanks-joining-us -
    Path URL will vary from website to website. This setting will stop the popup from showing on the Newsletter Sign Up Welcome page.
