Vrbo - Promotions (Discounts)
This article explains Vrbo Promotions and Discounts, now available in Boost.
Overview
Vrbo offers both “promotions” and “discounts” to help property managers attract more bookings and maximize occupancy. These tools allow you to set up special offers for your properties based on specific criteria, such as booking window, guest type, or device used. This guide explains the types of promotions available, how to configure them, and important rules and best practices.
Key Concepts
No stacking: While multiple discounts/promotions can be created for the same property for overlapping dates, the highest discount/promotion is what will be applied to the booking. The discounts do not stack.
Where to set Vrbo promotions & Discounts in Boost: You can set promotions on the Channel Settings Page (applies to all properties) or on the Listing Settings page of an individual property. You must choose one method per property—combining both is not supported.
Activation/Deactivation: Promotions can be enabled, disabled, or edited at any time. Promotions cannot be deleted; you can only disable them by setting them to ‘Inactive’
Bulk update is not supported for promotions; set up each property individually if needed.
New Listing Discount is counted as a promotion for stacking logic.
Changes take about 15 minutes to appear on Vrbo.
